I have been trying to find information on my great great grand father Hennesy. I have learned from my father that my grandfather, Gerald Hennesy Sr., was the editor of a periodical called The Truth Seeker. When I found your site and saw there was link between a periodical called The Truth Seeker and a line of Hennesys I thought it was too big a coincident to ingnore. I don’t see any obvious connection, but I was wondering if you might have any information that I may have missed. The only record I have of the Hennesy I am looking for is that he was born “On the Ocean”, presumably coming over from Ireland. He grew up in Ohio, married Mary E. Patridge, and had a son, James Albert, and a daughter, Mary Louise. His wife is listed as a widow in the 1880 census.

I’m sorry to disappoint but there’s no connection. Hennesy is on my husband’s side and they never went above the Mason-Dixon line. The editor of “The Truth Seeker” I write about wasn’t a Hennesy, and I’ve no familial connection to it. A person who subscribed to it was possibly on my side of the family line.

    Good luck with your search!
