Jessie was a daughter of David Nathaniel Brewer and Delana Louise Jane Fowler, and sibling of this blog’s Elizabeth “Bettie” Brewer who married Ray Noyes and resided in Liberal, Missouri.

Jessie was born 1888 Jan 10 in Barton County, Missouri, and died 1981 June 22 in Yakima, Washington. John Levy Jones, born 1883 Dec 28 in Missouri to Willieam C. Jones and Lutesia “Luttie” Steeley, died 1952 Dec 28 in Yakima. Both are buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.

They were married about 1905 in Everton, Dade, Missouri.

Levy and Jessie had four children:

1. Herman Chester Jones b. 1906 Sep 22 in Arcola, Dade, Missouri, died 1977 March 9 in Selah, Yakima, Washington.

2. Herbert Leo Jones b. 1910 Oct 28 in Missouri, died 1989 March 7 in Yakima, Washington. 1947 Aug 27 in Selah, Yakima, Washington he married Edna Lambeth, born 1919 March 1, died 2006 Oct 10. She is buried at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima.

3. Burton Jones b. 1917 Sep 24 in Missouri, died 1975 Nov 6 in Yakima, Washington.

4. Mary Katherine Jones b. 1921 May 9 in Missouri.

Jessie’s certificate of death shows she was at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home when she died, her next of kin being her daughter, Mrs. Mary Smith, who was living at Rt. 4, Box 4334 in Selah, Washington. She was buried June 25, 1981, with Shaw & Sons Funeral Home at 201 N. 2nd St. in Yakima taking care of the funeral.

The funeral home sheet shows the officiating minister was Rev. Wendel D. Jensen, the organist was Mr. Reuben Ausink, the vocalist Eric Hillstrom. Songs were “Will the Circle be Unbroken” and “When We All Get to Heaven”.

Pallbearers were Junior Jones, Jason Jones, Bob Smith, Darell Smith, Percy Bauguess and John Ferguson.

She was 93, and her usual residence had been Box 272 in Selah, Washington, having resided there since 1937.

She had 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her husband and 3 sons.

She was a member of the Selah Covenant Church.

Levy, a farmer, had died 1952 Dec 18 at 10:50 a.m., and was buried Wed., Dec 31, 1952 at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Lloyd Tornell, of the Mission Covenant Church of Selah officiating. Mrs. Helen Herr was the organist. Singers were Mrs. Tena Williams and Leonard Dahl. The pallbearers were Linvil Pyle, Tom Smith, Jack Ellis, Earl Dixon, Junior Jones and Lennie Lantrip.

At the time of his death, sons Herman and Herbert, and daughter Mary Catherine Smith were all living in Selah, while Burton was in Yakima.

Brother Elbert was in Everton, Missouri, as were his sisters Mrs. Elvie Wright and Miss Delpha Jones. His sister Mrs. Pearl Perona was in Crowburg, Kansas.

He had 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
