Oct 18 1802 at Williamson Co., Tennessee, was a son of Thomas Strickland Sr. and Zelpha Slocum. On June 8 1826, in Boone County, Missouri, he married Elizabeth Shock, daughter of John Shock and Mary Bealor. She was born Oct 28 1807 at Fayette Co., Kentucky and died Jan 1853.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas and Elizabeth had 9 children, all listed in the file below: Joseph, John Henry, Mary Martha, Zilpha Jane, <a href=\"https:\/\/evermore.imagedjinn.com\/blg\/3987\/james-kelly-crockett-and-millie-ann-stricklin\/\">Millie Ann married James Kelly Crockett<\/a> (direct line), William J., James P., Michael Kelly, and Thomas H. MO in 1826. The family record of Judy<br \/>\nBerndt names his mother as Zilpha SLOCUMB.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Thomas Stricklin family Bible in possession of Louise Stabler descendant<br \/>\nidentifies the family unit and locates them Boone County, MO.&#8221;<br \/>\nJudy Berndt  2001 June 23 email<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Family tradition said he came from TN and census list birth place as TN<br \/>\nWritten recollection from grandchildren of age to know first hand have named<br \/>\nhis Mother as Zelpha Slocum. The History of Slocum, Slocumbs of America book<br \/>\ncoming from the other direction said unnamed daughter of Joseph Slocumb<br \/>\nmarried Thomas Strickland.
