They were probably Anglo-Norman French.<br \/>\nThe Butts were whatever and were in Maryland in the late 1700s I guess. I read Butts may be Cornish.<br \/>\nThe Craigs were Irish and emigrated in the early 1700s to Pennsylvania.<br \/>\nThe Bromwells were Irish. Looking at the history of the name, perhaps they were from England.<br \/>\nThe Brooks were, I&#8217;m guessing English and I don&#8217;t know when they got here but were in South Carolina in the late 1700s.<br \/>\nThe Dennys were Irish and were over to Pennsylvanis by the early 1700s.<br \/>\nThe Cowdens were Irish and in Pennsylvania by the early 1700s.<br \/>\nThe Pattons were already in Pennsylvania in the early 1700s.
